Ah, summer vacation...

Wahoo!! It's going to be nice to relax, sleep past 6 a.m., and spend some quality time blogging. It was sad to see my little kiddos go though. They were such a wonderful group! And one of my little guys coming next year has been known to run across the tops of the tables in his kindergarten class. I'm a bit worried about that, I must say. Right now, however, I'm enjoying the thought of not working so hard for while. I just have to go back Monday and finish do my cums and turn in my keys.

What do you do with your class on the last day of school? Do you have any favorite activities? Does your grade level do anything together for the last day?

On the last day I take my class out to play with bubbles and frisbees. After that I let them shaving cream paint on their desks. That is great fun! It cleans the desks well and makes the room smell good too. My class had time to have classmates sign their memory books and then we went outside for our traditional pizza picnic. I thought I'd cry, but I made it through okay.

Do any of you use Houghton Mifflin Expressions for math? I'm going to training on Tuesday and we'll be using that next year. I'd love to hear your opinion of it or read any posts you'd like to share about it.

And I feel really dumb asking this question, and I've tried not too, but while I was gone from by blog a bit ago, the "follow" button at the top of blogs disappeared. How do you follow a blog now? I tried Google Friend Connect and that puts a blog in my reading list, but is there something else? I really feel silly asking, but if you can help, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for reading, thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Congrats on being out!! I always have my students make autograph books! Each student gets a book with everyone pictures. Students will find their picture in their friends book and wirte a message to that person. Then studnets will always be able to go back and see a face with the sweet message that was written. I am your newest follower.
    Enjoy your summer,

  2. Thanks for stopping by! Now I'm your newest follower. I think you can join the site on the bottom right of my page. (Join This Site(google Friend connect). I don't know what happen to the follow buttons. On your page I can't find the follow button either but I joined through google connect. You can also sign up to follow by email. I hope this helps. I use to love the follow buttons but I don't see them anymore on any blog I come to.

  4. I can't see the follow buttons (or my followers) on my computer at home, but can see them at school-so I thought maybe it was some update I missed or something. That is frustrating. If I use the google search engine instead of Explorer-it comes up.

We usually make t-shirts the last day. This year they scheduled our awards for the last day of school-that was interesting! :)

    1. Thank you for your help. I'm glad to know someone else was confused too. I guess the "Join this site" is what I use now.

  5. I haven't done the shaving cream painting in a while. That sounds like fun!!

I still see "Join This Site' above the list of followers. When I click on it it works as usual. Is that what you mean, Chrissy?
