What I've Been Pinning This Week

Hello everyone! I hope you have a wonderful, happy Thanksgiving with your friends and families. And for my Canadian friends, I hope your week is going well and that you have some happy, wonderful moments with your friends and families too. Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to you!

While I'm waiting for the crusts to cool for two pumpkin bourbon cheesecakes, I thought I'd share some of the things I've been pinning this week. (Then I'll need to go back and make the cheesecake filling.) Last weekend, my friend Barbara posted a tutorial on how to "pin" from your iPad. My husband and I were on my way to Los Angeles to see The Book of Mormon and I so enjoyed pinning my heart out while we sat in traffic. If you don't offend easily, The Book of Mormon is hilarious by the way.
So here are a few of my favorite pins from this week:

Click on Barbara's blog button for a very simple tutorial on how to pin from your iPad. Yippee!!

I pinned this terrific parent Christmas gift from Clutter-free Classroom. I think this is what we'll make this year. They're conversation starters! I love that it would hopefully get my students' parents talking to them.

I loved this Gingerbread Man packet when I saw it! I do a lot with the Gingerbread Man stories so this will be so much fun!

Saturday morning in Los Angeles my husband I went out for breakfast a little place on Melrose called Blu Jam Cafe. I highly recommend it if you live or are in L.A. I had the best french toast I've ever tasted! and my husband had amazing eggs benedict.

Do your students need extra support learning to make 5's and 10's? Our school uses a program called Facts Wise and has addition and subtraction goals within 5 and 10, so this looks like just what we need. Renee is having a giveaway and there are still a few days left to enter! Just click on the blog button.
The Reading Corner

This got pinned to "Common Core." Apps for digital storytelling! I don't have iPads in my classroom, but I could probably just use mine. Erin over at Kleinspiration shared these.
Kleinspiration

This sounds like a must-have for my classroom! I'm always looking for new ways of getting through to my really, really low kiddos. Thanks, Abby!

I didn't pin this, but I just stumbled upon it and had to share. What a terrific way to re-use a CandyLand game. My class will love, love, love this!
You can read about how to put it together on Sarah's blog here
And I just loved this!

Here's wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!
I may do a little shopping for my Holly Bloggy Christmas Exchange partner over weekend. I'll help my mom decorate for Christmas, and by Sunday or Monday start the next picture book linky party for Christmas books. I'm so excited to get them out and start reading them to my kiddos. Thanks for visiting!

  1. Hi, Chrissy, it's Chrissy, lol!

I wanted to do the blogger exchange, but I will be in LA on Christmas day, not at home. When we visit LA, our family always takes us to CiCi's for chocolate chip pancakes...yum!

Thanks for the pinning ideas. Great post!

I've never heard of that restaurant, but I'll have to look it up. Those pancakes sound delish! Have a happy Thanksgiving!
