About Me

Hi there! I've been teaching 19 years mostly in first grade. First grade definitely found me. In my student teaching days I was sure I wanted to teach an upper grade. I couldn't imagine teaching kids to hold a pencil or cut with scissors or how to read "cat." But my first job was a 1st/2nd grade combo and I loved it. Since then I've taught kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade, and next year in 2014-15, I get to teach 2nd grade again. I'm so excited!
My favorite parts of teaching are seeing the progress the kids make and those moments when "the light bulb" turns on and a student who's been struggling finally gets it.
I started blogging because I wanted to connect with other teachers out there and swap ideas. Blogging has become so much more than that. I've made friends through blogging and been so inspired and encouraged by all you fabulous teachers out here!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting First Grade Found Me!

Also, my husband is a realtor and asked if I could help him out. So if you're looking for a new home, feel free to use this search.
